The debut, self titled record from UK/Greek black metallers Amaltheia is a dark, convulted slab of black metal, full of uncomfortable moments and melodies where the dissonance swells and begins to take over. A slithering miasma of black metal that is very very good, ‘Amaltheia’ is a must listen for its more esoteric and unsettling moments alone. When it kicks the pure black metal into gear though, there is a rage and a fury in there you cannot fake. This shit is real. Real dark and weird.
