Before becoming a name associated with one of the most uncompromising entities in extreme metal, and long before the emergence of his band Sadistik Exekution, Rok’s imagination was already populated by war machines, hellscapes and abominations. A visual language that would eventually merge with the violence, intensity and mythology of the scene he would later become a part of. From his early experiments with drawing and painting to his decades-long career shaping the imagery of underground music, he has developed a singular creative approach: instinctive, direct, autonomous and deliberately detached from conventions, free of any compromises.
As a visual artist Rok has since 1985 created a vast body of work comprising artworks, logos & t-shirts for more than a hundred entities connected to the extreme metal countercultures. His portfolio gathers names including some of the most infamous actors that those scenes gave birth to — Sadistik Exekution, Sodom, Slayer Mag, Enthroned, Nuclear War Now!, Nunslaughter and more. This massive compendium condenses, across 320 pages, the essence of Rok’s sadistik art.
