Stigma Diabolicum was the original incarnation of Thorns, formed in Trondheim in 1989 by Snorre W. Ruch, Harald Eilertsen and Marius Vold, later joined by Bård G. Eithun on drums.
The band released one demo under the Stigma Diabolicum moniker, before they changed the name to Thorns.
